I actually didn't get to see the way the toy was used after I gave it to my niece for Christmas, but she hugged it close when she received it and I personally thought it was adorable. Not sure about educational value, which will depend on factors not directly related to the toy itself, but I can tell you it is super cute, soft and very huggable.

I ordered this item for my 9 month old son but had to send back as the eyes were "raised" and I was worried about them coming off if he chewed on them. It was very soft and cute though and would be great for a child who was older.
